Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

Sustainable Development Goals

Clear Neutral is committed to supporting the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through our carbon offset initiatives and our work in the lab grown diamond industry. These goals, established in 2015, guide nations towards achieving a better and more sustainable future by 2030.

Responsible Consumption and Production aims to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. The goal recognises that current patterns of consumption and production are placing immense pressure on natural resources, contributing to environmental degradation and climate change.

Goal 12 focuses on promoting sustainable practices throughout the entire lifecycle of products and services, from design and production to consumption and disposal. It calls for the implementation of sustainable resource management, including the efficient use of resources, waste reduction, and recycling. The goal encourages businesses and consumers to adopt sustainable practices, such as sustainable sourcing, eco-design, and environmentally-friendly production processes. It also highlights the importance of raising awareness and providing information on sustainable lifestyles, including responsible consumer choices.

Additionally, Goal 12 promotes the integration of sustainability principles into policies and strategies, both at the national and international levels. By achieving this goal, societies can transition towards more sustainable and efficient production systems, reduce waste generation, and promote responsible consumption, contributing to the preservation of ecosystems and the well-being of current and future generations.
