Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

Sustainable Development Goals

Clear Neutral is committed to supporting the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through our carbon offset initiatives and our work in the lab grown diamond industry. These goals, established in 2015, guide nations towards achieving a better and more sustainable future by 2030.

Sustainable Cities and Communities aims to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. The goal recognises that urbanisation is a transformative force that can drive economic growth and innovation. However, it also presents challenges related to inadequate housing, overcrowding, pollution, and lack of basic services.

Goal 11 focuses on promoting sustainable urban planning and management, including affordable and adequate housing, transportation systems, and green spaces. It calls for the improvement of urban resilience to natural and human-made disasters, as well as the protection and preservation of cultural and natural heritage. The goal emphasises the importance of inclusive and participatory urban governance, promoting sustainable and efficient use of resources, and reducing the environmental impact of cities.

Additionally, Goal 11 encourages sustainable urbanisation practices, including integrated and sustainable transportation systems, access to safe and affordable public spaces, and improved waste management. By achieving this goal, societies can create cities and communities that are inclusive, resilient, and environmentally sustainable, providing a high quality of life for present and future generations.
