Goal 14: Life Below Water

Sustainable Development Goals

Clear Neutral is committed to supporting the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through our carbon offset initiatives and our work in the lab grown diamond industry. These goals, established in 2015, guide nations towards achieving a better and more sustainable future by 2030.

Life Below Water aims to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development. The goal recognises the vital role of the oceans in supporting life on Earth and the need to protect marine ecosystems from pollution, overfishing, and habitat destruction.

Goal 14 focuses on reducing marine pollution, including marine debris and nutrient pollution, and minimising the impacts of ocean acidification and climate change on marine ecosystems. It calls for sustainable management and protection of coastal and marine areas, including the establishment of marine protected areas and the restoration of degraded habitats. The goal also promotes sustainable fisheries practices, the conservation of marine biodiversity, and the sustainable development of the blue economy.

Additionally, Goal 14 emphasises the importance of enhancing scientific knowledge, research, and technological capabilities to better understand and address the challenges facing the oceans. By achieving this goal, societies can safeguard marine biodiversity, protect coastal communities, promote sustainable fisheries, and ensure the long-term health and productivity of our oceans.
