Goal 15: Life on Land

Sustainable Development Goals

Clear Neutral is committed to supporting the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through our carbon offset initiatives and our work in the lab grown diamond industry. These goals, established in 2015, guide nations towards achieving a better and more sustainable future by 2030.

Life on Land aims to protect, restore, and sustainably manage terrestrial ecosystems, forests, and biodiversity. The goal recognises the vital role of ecosystems on land in supporting life, providing resources, and mitigating climate change.

Goal 15 focuses on combating deforestation, desertification, and land degradation, and promoting the restoration and conservation of terrestrial habitats. It calls for the sustainable management of forests, including halting deforestation and promoting reforestation efforts. The goal also emphasises the need to combat poaching and trafficking of protected species, promote the conservation of biodiversity, and halt the loss of species and habitats. It highlights the importance of inclusive and participatory governance, as well as the integration of indigenous and local knowledge in land management practices.

Additionally, Goal 15 promotes sustainable land-use planning, the sustainable management of ecosystems, and the restoration of degraded land. By achieving this goal, societies can protect biodiversity, ensure the sustainable use of land resources, combat climate change, and foster the sustainable development of both rural and urban areas.
